The Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) has announced the successful certification testing of its TMK FMT premium threaded connections at Oil States Industries' structural test laboratory in Aberdeen, UK.
The company's TMK FMT premium connections were tested for Russia-based oilfield developing company Salym Petroleum Development BV, a joint venture between a subsidiary of Anglo-Russian integrated oil company Sibir Energy and Shell Salym Development B.V, which is a member of the global group of energy and petrochemicals companies Royal Dutch/Shell.
The certification testing, including tension and compression tests, was carried out on TMK FMT Premium tubing of N80 steel grade with 88.9 mm outside diameter and with wall thickness of 7.34 mm.
"Receiving internationally recognized certification for TMK's FMT premium connections allows us to continue expanding TMK's global reach. This new recognition will strengthen the company's collaboration with Salym Petroleum BV, with which TMK already has an agreement for the rendering of oil and gas field services, including product design and manufacturing, as well as running and technical assistance," TMK-Premium Service director Sergey Chetverikov commented.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, in October 2008 TMK's FMT connections underwent successful certification with the Russian VNIIGAZ and VNIITneft testing bodies.
