The Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) has announced that TMK-CPW, a joint venture between its subsidiary Seversky Tube Works and HUMBEL Limited, a subsidiary of Greece's largest manufacturer of pipes Corinth Pipeworks S.A., has completed the reconstruction of its electric pipe-welding mill 168-530, which included the installation of new equipment for the production of square and rectangular tubes.

The new equipment, supplied by Swiss company SYTCO, will allow TMK-CPW to produce square tubes of 175 mm to 400 mm sizes, and rectangular tubes of 200 mm to 500 mm width and 150 mm to 300 mm height, with wall thickness from 5 to 14 mm and length from 6 to 18 m.

The commissioning of the new equipment will enable TMK-CPW to significantly expand its product range.

The products of TMK-CPW, which was founded in January 2007, are designed to satisfy the growing needs of Russian and CIS oil and gas companies for pipes used in the production and transportation of oil and gas, as well as the growing needs of the construction industry.
