Russia's largest oil and gas pipe producer TMK has announced that it has begun shipments of another batch of longitudinal welded large diameter (LD) pipes to Russia's biggest gas company Gazprom for the construction of its Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipeline.
In March this year, TMK will ship a total of over 11,000 mt of 1,220 mm K60 grade longitudinal welded pipe with wall thicknesses of 17.8 mm, 21.2 mm and 24.6 mm, and with internal protective coating. This pipe range is manufactured at Volzhsky's longitudinal welded LD pipe mill, which was commissioned in late 2008 as part of TMK's strategic investment program.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, in 2009 TMK supplied Gazprom with more than 70,000 mt of longitudinal welded LD pipes for the project in question.
