TISCO commissions ultra-fine slag production line No. 2

 On July 29, Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (TISCO) announced that a successful hot run test was completed at its new ultra-fine steel slag production line No. 2 on July 22, with TISCO now possessing the world's largest ultra-fine slag output capacity.

The company's ultra-fine slag production line No. 1, which has an annual output capacity of 1 million mt, was commissioned in May 2010 and as of June 30 this year it had produced 2.4 million mt of ultra-fine slag. The annual output capacity of line No. 2 is 1.7 million mt. The recycling of slag is expected to save TISCO RMB 174 million ($28.3 million) each year.
