Tianjin Steel hikes medium plate price

On May 1, Tianjin Steel hiked its ex-factory price for medium plate. The details are as follows:

The price of 8 mm common carbon medium plate has been gone up RMB 150/mt ($19.5/mt). As a result, the price of 8 mm Q235 is at RMB 4,550/mt ($592/mt).

The prices of 16-20 mm Q235 have increased RMB 80/mt ($10.4/mt), with the new price of 16-20 mm now at RMB 4,050/mt ($527/mt).

The above figures do not include transportation costs. If the mill takes charge of transportation, the prices will be RMB 50/mt ($6.5/mt) higher.

The above prices include taxes and are effective as of May 1, 2007.
