The third phase of Tangshan Port Caofeidian Port Area Ore Terminal Project, built by Hebei-based Chinese state-owned Tangshan Caofeidian Port Co, consists of two berths designed to accommodate 400,000 dwt bulk cargo vessels. The terminal is 790 meters in length. Total investment is estimated at RMB 4.08 billion ($650 million). Upon completion of the third phase project, the iron ore handling capacity of Caofeidian Port Area is expected to reach 100 million mt.
