Three killed in accident at Evraz coal mine in Kemerevo

A roof collapse which occurred on Sunday at Russian steelmaker Evraz Holding's Mine 12, located in the Kemerevo region of Russia, resulted in the death of three miners, the company has stated in an official release.

Evraz chairman and CEO Alexander Frolov expressed his company's condolences to the relatives of the dead miners and deepest regrets concerning the accident. He went on to add that labor safety at all Evraz's mines remains his company's top priority.

In 2007, Mine 12 produced 893,000 mt of coal, including over 667,000 mt of hard coking coal.
