Tata Steel Europe, a subsidiary of Indian steelmaker Tata Steel, has announced that its Halmstad Steel Service Center in Sweden has become completely carbon neutral regarding emissions related to production. The service center, which uses steel from Tata Steel’s IJmuiden steelworks in the Netherlands to supply high-quality products to the automotive sector, now contributes to Tata Steel’s ambition to operate completely carbon neutral by 2045.

To achieve this result, the company made 100 percent green contracts with energy suppliers and replaced an existing dehumidifier with an electric one at the service center to avoid having to use natural gas.
