Tata Steel’s steel sales increase by 38 percent in October

On November 6 Indian steelmaker Tata Steel announced that its total steel sales in October increased by 38 percent year on year to 462,000 metric tons, due to an 89 percent increase year on year in its long product sales and a 14 percent rise in its flat product sales.

Meanwhile, the company stated that in October it witnessed a 22 percent rise year on year in its crude steel output to 599,000 metric tons. The month also witnessed the best-ever output results for most of its production units.
 
During the month in question, the company's hot metal production rose by 17 percent to 649,000 metric tons, while its saleable steel output amounted to 570,000 metric tons, increasing by 27 percent, both compared to October 2008.
