Tata Steel’s crude steel output from Indian operations up 4% in Q2 FY 2023-24

Indian steel producer Tata Steel Limited achieved crude steel production of 4.99 million mt from its Indian operations during the second quarter (July-September) of the fiscal year 2023-24, up four percent year on year, according to a company statement on Friday, November 3.

Total domestic sales in the given period were reported at 4.82 million mt, almost the same as in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, but exports slumped 52 percent year on year to 450,000 mt.

Tata Steel Europe achieved crude steel production of 1.99 million mt in the July-September quarter, down from 2.40 million mt in the second quarter of the previous fiscal year, while sales were reported at 1.79 million mt, compared to 1.87 million mt in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
