Tata Steel’s consolidated steel output up 3% in Q4 FY 2022-23, sales down 3.42%

India steel producer Tata Steel achieved consolidated steel production of 7.77 million mt in the fourth quarter (January-March) of the fiscal year 2022-23, up three percent over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, the company said in a regulatory filing on Thursday, April 6. 

The company reported consolidated sales of 7.59 million mt during the quarter, a decline of 3.43 percent year on year.   

Tata Steel’s production from its Indian mills was reported at 5.15 million mt during the fourth quarter, up five percent, while total sales were reported at 5.15 million mt, marginally higher than 5.12 million mt in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.   

Tata Steel Europe reported flat steel output at 2.31 million mt, while its sales were 2.13 million mt, down from 2.40 million mt in the previous quarter.
