Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced that it has signed a series of contracts with Subsea 7, one of the world's leading contractors in engineering, construction and subsea services to the offshore industry, to supply undersea pipes to four separate North Sea projects.

The four contracts, worth an estimated £10 million in total, will see Tata Steel supply in excess of 55 km of pipe weighing more than 9,000 mt.

The pipes Tata Steel will supply will be manufactured at the company's Hartlepool pipe mills in the UK, before being welded and coated at its offshore processing center, also in Hartlepool.
