Tata Steel sales up 47 percent in February 2009

Indian Tata Steel, the world's sixth largest steelmaker, recorded a 47 percent increase to 584.000 mt in sales in February 2009, compared with sales in the corresponding month of 2008.

The company registered 517,000 mt hot metal, 466,000 mt crude steel and 498,000 mt saleable steel production in February 2009, up by 19 percent, 12 percent and 21 percent, respectively, over February 2008.
