Tata Steel Netherlands, a subsidiary of Indian steelmaker Tata Steel, has declared force majeure as it is facing disruptions in the modernizing of its cold rolling mill No. 21 at its IJmuiden steelworks.

The plant cannot fully meet its supply obligations as the commencement of the mill will be delayed.

The revamp of the cold rolling mill No. 21 has been underway since August last year.

The IJmuiden steelworks have an annual production capacity of about 7.5 million mt of hot and cold rolled coil.
