Taiwan's industrial
production index hit a new record high in July this year, climbing by 20.7 percent as compared to July 2009, after rising by a revised 24.69 percent year on year to a record level in June, and was up 2.02 percent month on month, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). In June,
Taiwan's monthly industrial output increased for the fifth straight month.
In July this year, industrial output in basic metal
manufacturing increased by 18.81 percent and output of metal product
manufacturing surged by 18.52 percent, both compared with July 2009. The respective month-on-month increase rates were registered at 2.21 percent and 0.37 percent.
Meanwhile, in July,
production in
Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry rose by 64.02 percent, output in the
automotive industry increased by 16.75 percent, while
production in the Taiwanese
construction sector declined by 24.03 percent, all compared to July 2009.
