Taiwan’s CSC posts higher operating revenues for May

Taiwan’s largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in May this year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 616,666 metric tons, while in the January-May period its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 3.21 million mt.

In May, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 32.76 billion ($1.05 billion), up by 1.2 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 808.5 million ($25.97 million), compared to a NTD 787.77 million income recorded in the previous month.

In the January-May period this year, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 156.48 billion ($5.03 billion), decreasing by 23.3 percent year on year. In the given period, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 1.57 billion ($50.44 million), compared to a NTD 22.47 billion operating income recorded in the same period last year.
