Taiwan’s CSC commissions new twin-ladle furnace

German plantmaker SMS Siemag has announced that Taiwan-based steel producer China Steel Corporation (CSC) has successfully commissioned the 270 mt twin-ladle furnace No. 3 supplied by its subsidiary SMS Mevac.

According to SMS Siemag, this twin-ladle furnace with an annual capacity of 1.94 million mt was installed in the basic oxygen furnace (BOF) steelmaking plant No. 2. The total capacity of the BOF steelmaking plants No. 1 and No. 2 currently amounts to some 10 million mt per year.
