Swedish trader and service center BE Group posts profit in Q2 2010

Sweden-based BE Group, a trading and service company for steel and other metals in Europe, has issued its financial results for the second quarter of 2010, stating that markets have begun to rebound as customers in the construction sector increase their orders.
 
According to the financial results, the operating profit of the company was SEK 86 million ($11.7 million) in the second quarter of 2010, compared with an operating loss of SEK 96 million in the second quarter of 2009. Sales revenues in the second quarter of 2010 increased by 31 percent year on year from SEK 1.07 billion to SEK 1.4 billion ($190.3 million).
 
BE Group's president and CEO Lars Bergström commented, "The trend in BE Group's markets was characterized by continued recovery. All in all, we delivered 25 percent more tonnage compared with the corresponding quarter in 2009 and 16 percent more than in the first quarter of 2010."
