Strikes in Eastern Germany ended

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, unions were going to vote for furher strike actions depending on the developments during new negotiations to be held on June 6. According to a recent announcement made by the Germany's biggest industrial union IG Metall, the strikes that started in June 2 in Eastern Germany have now ended as steel workers' 35-hour working week request has been accepted. It is stated that Arcelor's EKO Stahl, Riva's subsidiary and Salzgitter's plate division were mainly affected by the strikes.
