Strike decision at Erdemir steel service center subsidiary

Turkey's largest steelmaking group Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (Erdemir) has announced that on November 15 the Turkish Metal Union decided in favor of strike action at Erdemir steel service center subsidiary ERDEMİR Çelik Servis Merkezi San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (ERSEM) in the context of collective labor agreement negotiations held between ERSEM and the Turkish Metal Union, which started on July 1, 2011 and are still in progress. Erdemir received notification of the strike decision on November 22.
 
Based in Gebze, ERSEM is a steel service center providing cutting and slitting services for hot rolled coils, cold rolled coils and coated metal products with an annual capacity of 200,000 metric tons.
