Steel Authority of India Ltd. increases iron ore production

The Indian steelmaker SAIL's raw materials division is set to increase its iron ore output in the fiscal year 2003-2004 by 15%. The current production level is 11.75 million tons and a production of 13.6 million tons is planned to be reach. With such iron ore production increase by the raw materials division, SAIL will be in a position to increase its hot metals production to 12.8 million tons, as such iron ore production quantity will be satisfactory to meet the company's three steel making plants Bokaro, Durgapur and Rourkela, located in the eastern region.
