According to data from the Marine Delivers initiative, a US and Canadian marine industry coalition, cargo shipments at the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor increased 6 percent year-on-year in the January-May period this year, as a result of substantial increases in shipments of steel products and industrial cargoes. Steel coil and scrap metal shipments, in addition to limestone and magnesite for the steel industry, are paving the way for a strong shipments year at the port.
