South Korea’s steel plate demand to rise

South Korea's Shipbuilders' Association expects that demand from South Korean shipbuilders for steel plates will show an upward trend next year due to an increase in orders. The Shipbuilders' Association indicates that the domestic industry's demand for steel plates will increase 300'000 metric tons year on year to 5.4 million tons in 2006. The demand for steel plates is expected to reach 6 million metric tons by 2008.
