South Korea’s Doosan will invest $300 million in Mexico

South Korea-based industrial conglomerate Doosan Group will invest $300 million to produce loaders, excavators, compact tractors, utility products, telehandlers, among other equipment in Mexico, the company reported in a press release. The investment will be made through its subsidiary in the United States, Bobcat Company.

“The 700,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is expected to increase Bobcat's North American compact loader production capacity by 20 percent (...) $300 million investment aims to boost production capacity to support customer demand and company growth,” Bobcat Company reported in a press release.

The investment will be made in the northern city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, a city located 160 miles south of the border city of Laredo, Texas.

The facility will have areas for welding, painting and assembly, as well as an on-site warehouse and office space. Bobcat will implement cutting-edge technology with an emphasis on quality, precision and energy efficiency.
