South America’s crude steel output falls

South America's crude steel production fell 2.4 percent year on year to 3.8 million metric tons in November. Brazil's crude steel production fell 4.4 percent year on year to 2.6 million metric tons in November while Chile's crude steel production decreased 39.2 percent to 85,000 metric tons. On the other hand, Peru's crude steel production rose 48.9 percent year on year to 70,000 metric tons last month and Venezuela's production grew 15.4 percent to 440,000 metric tons. For the eleven months of the year, South America's crude steel production fell 0.5 percent year on year to 41.5 million metric tons.
