South Africa’s base metal export value up 7.4 percent in Jan-Nov

According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in November this year the value of South Africa's exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 11.76 billion ($859.99 million), up 11.3 percent from October. In the January-November period of this year, South Africa's export value of base metals and articles thereof increased by 7.4 percent year on year to ZAR 122.91 billion ($8.98 billion).
 
In November of the current year, the country's imports of base metals and articles thereof amounted to ZAR 5.17 billion ($378.63 million), increasing  6.6 percent from the previous month, while in the first eleven months South African imports of base metals and articles thereof fell by 0.9 percent year on year, amounting to ZAR 55.52 billion ($4.06 billion).
