South Africa imposes trade-remedy duties on certain steel wires and cables

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has withdrawn antidumping and countervailing duties on certain steel products, while it has imposed several duties on other products.

Accordingly, the provisions for antidumping duties on certain stranded wire, ropes and cables, of iron or steel, originating in or imported from China, Germany, South Korea and the UK, are withdrawn. The provision for countervailing duties on certain ropes and cables of iron or steel, excluding those imported from Bridon International Gmbh and Pfeifer Drako, is withdrawn. The provision for a countervailing duty on certain ropes and cables of iron or steel, manufactured or exported by Usha Martin, originating in or imported from India, is withdrawn.

On the other hand, the provisions for antidumping duties on certain ropes and cables, of iron or steel, excluding those imported from Bridon International Limited, Bridon International GmbH and Pfeifer Drako, originating in or imported from China, Germany, South Korea and the UK, are imposed. The provisions for antidumping duties on certain stranded wire, of iron or steel, originating in or imported from China and South Korea, and excluding those imported from Bridon International Limited, Bridon International GmbH and Pfeifer Drako, originating in or imported from Germany and the UK, are imposed.

The provisions for a countervailing duty on certain ropes and cables, of iron or steel, excluding those manufactured by Apar Industries, originating in or imported from India, are imposed. The provision for a countervailing duty on stranded wire of iron or steel, excluding that manufactured by Apar Industries, originating in or imported from India, is imposed.

The amended rates of duties on certain products defined with tariff codes below are as follows:
