SMS Siemag to build new cold rolling mill for Bahru Stainless

On June 7, German plantmaker SMS Siemag announced that it has received an order from Malaysia-based Bahru Stainless, a subsidiary of the Spanish Acerinox Group, one of the world's largest stainless-steel producers, for the building of a new cold rolling complex.


Accordingly, for the new complex SMS Siemag will supply a 20-roll cold mill of type MB 22B-52. The supply scope comprises the design, manufacture, erection and commissioning of the mechanical equipment as well as the auxiliary and ancillary facilities.


The mill is scheduled to begin production operations in December 2012.
