Siemens VAI to supply equipment for Ruukki’s new dedusting system

Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has announced that it has received an order from Finnish steelmaker Ruukki to supply and install equipment for a new secondary dedusting system in its converter steelworks in Raahe, Finland.

The new dedusting system designed for a total extraction capacity of 1.7 million cubic meters per hour will reduce emissions from the steelworks to below statutory limits. The new system is scheduled to come into operation at the end of 2013.
