Shougang Shuicheng Steel’s PCI rate almost reaches 200kg/mt

The blast furnace mill of northern Chinese steelmaker Shougang Shuicheng Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd has achieved a world-class pulverized coal injection (PCI) rate of 199kg/mt, the steel producer has reported.

In 2010, the mill started work on improving its PCI technology and in the first half of the year broke its PCI rate record a total of five times. In early August, the PCI rate of the mill reached 185kg/mt, finally reaching 199kg/mt on August 16.
