Shougang releases May prices for medium plate

On April 20, Shougang Group issued May ex-factory prices for its medium plate. The details are as follows:

The ex-factory prices of medium carbon plate and low alloy plate increased RMB 50/mt ($6/mt). After the adjustment, the new price of Q235A 11-14 mm thick medium plate is RMB 4,210/mt ($545/mt); that of Q235A 15-25 mm thick medium plate is RMB 4,170/mt ($540/mt); meanwhile the new price of Q235A 26-30 mm thick medium plate is RMB 4,190/mt ($543/mt).

The ex-factory prices of shipbuilding plate increased RMB 250/mt ($32/mt).

The ex-factory prices of boiler plate, container plate and bridge steel plate increased RMB 150/mt ($19/mt). After the adjustment, the new price of 20G 15-25 mm thick boiler plate is RMB 4,640/mt ($601/mt).

All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective as of April 20, 2007.
