Jiangsu Province-based Shagang's wide and heavy plate plant has received China Classification Society (CCS) certification for its A and B grades of shipbuilding plate, meaning that Shagang can now use the CCS mark on this product.

Using advanced processes and equipment, the Shagang plant enforces strict quality control over product thickness and width, thus reducing the size tolerance of its shipbuilding plate to below 0.2 mm. Shagang products have been acclaimed by the CCS and by customers.
