The Russian steel producer Severstal has announced that its Trade House Severstal-Invest has concluded a long-term vendor contract for the supply of steel products (rebar and flats) for the construction of infrastructural projects, including the building of a parallel road to Krasnaya Polyana, within the scope of preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics to be held at the southern Russian city of Sochi.
Commenting on the concluded contract, Severstal-Invest's general director Sergei Sokolov said: "It is important that one of the contract's conditions is that the steel products must be of Russian origin. This will be a good premise for the domestic steelmakers to increase their output capacities."
In 2008, Severstal's Trade House Severstal-Invest supplied more than 1,500 mt of rolled products for the construction of tunnels for the Olympic Games in Sochi.
