Severstal increases steel supplies to Russian construction industry

Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that in the January-September period of this year it has increased its steel deliveries to the construction industry in Russia by 10 percent year on year to 3.1 million mt. In particular, Severstal's shipments of long steel products increased by 22 percent or 193,000 mt, while its shipments of pipes and formed sections rose by 15 percent or 66,000 mt, both year on year.

According to the company's statement, about half of the steel its delivers to the domestic market is used in the construction industry.
