Severstal Cherepovets increases shipments to pipemakers by 42 percent in 2010

Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, has said that in 2010 it increased its shipments of rolled steel products to pipe producers by 42 percent year on year to 1.9 million mt, of which more than 1.4 million mt were delivered to Russian domestic customers.
 
Accordingly, more than a third of Severstal Cherepovets' total shipments of rolled steel products to Russian domestic pipe producers consisted of plates produced at its rolling mill 5000 in Kolpino, St. Petersburg. "In 2010 compared to 2009, shipments from the mill 5000 to the pipe industry increased by almost 1.5 times, amounting to about 550,000 mt," said the company.
