Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that in November this year it achieved an all-time record daily pig iron output of 26.343 mt. In the given month, Severstal’s average daily pig iron output reached 13,089 mt.

"In today's market, when scrap prices are high enough, our goal is to increase the use of iron for steel production. Therefore, we are implementing a set of measures to improve the quality of coke, to improve pellets, as well as to improve the efficiency of the blow parameters of the blast furnaces,” stated Sergey Toropov, CEO of Severstal’s Russian Steel division.
