Steel Dynamics, Inc. (SDI) today announced the successful restart on July 28, 2023, of the hot mill at its Sinton Texas Flat Roll Steel Mill after an unplanned outage began on July 1, 2023.

In a press release, the company said the outage related to caster shear equipment issues, which SDI says it has “successfully addressed.”

During the unplanned outage, the company continued to operate Sinton's cold mill and downstream value-added flat rolled steel coating lines.
