Scrap rises further on Orbis Steel Index

In the week from April 4 to April 10, on the Orbis Steel Index the scrap indexes continued to rise on the Orbis Steel Index. In the given week, the Turkish cold rolled coil (CRC) index started to increase and the Turkish rebar index maintained its upward movement.
 
As per the Orbis Steel Index data, the index movements in the week from April 4 to April 10 as per product are as follows:
 
Turkish Scrap Index continued its upward movement, with the index value rising by 11.89 percent to 101.62 compared to the previous week. 
   
US (East Coast) HMS I/II Scrap Export Index maintained its rising trend in the given week. The index value rose by 4.12 percent week on week to 112.94. 
   
Turkish Rebar Index continued to rise, with the index value increasing by 8.82 percent to 106.34 compared to the previous week.  
  
Turkish HRC Index continued to move upwards, with the index value rising by 2.74 percent week on week to 71.7. 
 
Black Sea HRC Export Index maintained its rising movement in the given week. The index value increased by 11.08 percent to 77.48 compared to the previous week. 
    
Turkish HDG Index continued to rise in the week in question, with the index value rising by 1.18 percent week on week to 81.39.  
 
Turkish CRC Index  started to increase in the given week. The index value rose 2.75 percent week on week to 76.71.  
 
*Explanations:
 
Turkish Scrap Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of domestic ferrous scrap purchased weekly by Turkish steel mills, and imported HMS 80/20 CFR Turkey.
 
Turkish Rebar Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality deformed steel reinforcing bars produced and sold by Turkish mills and subsequently merchants, both in the domestic market on ex-warehouse basis and for export on FOB Turkey basis.
 
Turkish HRC Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality HRC produced or imported, and then sold by Turkish mills on ex-warehouse basis.
