Scrap continues to rise on Orbis Steel Index

In the week from April 25 to May 1, on the Orbis Steel Index the scrap indexes continued to indicate upward movement. In the given week, the Turkish rebar index maintained its rising movement, while Turkish flat rolled product indexes also showed upward movement.
 
As per the Orbis Steel Index data, the index movements in the week from April 25 to May 1 as per product are as follows:
 
Turkish Scrap Index continued to increase, with the index value rising 3.67 percent week on week to 119.12. 
   
US (East Coast) HMS I/II Scrap Export Index maintained its upward movement, with the index value increasing by 8.38 percent week on week to 146.  
   
Turkish Rebar Index moved upwards in the given week, with the index value increasing by 4.23 percent week on week to 119.61.    
 
Turkish HRC Index increased by 10.33 percent week on week to 83.45.  
 
Black Sea HRC Export Index rose by 8.53 percent to 88.85 compared to the previous week.
 
Turkish HDG Index started to increase in the given week. The index value rose by 10.68 percent week on week to 91.48.
 
Turkish CRC Index moved upwards, with the index value increasing by 10 percent week on week to 90.41.  
 
*Explanations:
 
Turkish Scrap Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of domestic ferrous scrap purchased weekly by Turkish steel mills, and imported HMS 80/20 CFR Turkey.
 
Turkish Rebar Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality deformed steel reinforcing bars produced and sold by Turkish mills and subsequently merchants, both in the domestic market on ex-warehouse basis and for export on FOB Turkey basis.
 
Turkish HRC Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality HRC produced or imported, and then sold by Turkish mills on ex-warehouse basis.
