Ruukki to supply steel frames for second phase of Technopolis Ruoholahti Helsinki

Finland-based steelmaker Ruukki has announced that it will deliver steel frames and façades worth around €3 million for the second construction phase of technology center Technopolis Ruoholahti Helsinki, which is due for completion in May 2012.

Ruukki's total delivery includes foundation piles, a fire-protected steel frame and thermopurlins for the exterior walls. Ruukki is also responsible for the structural and construction design of the structures. The delivery also includes glass façades, as well as installation of the concrete elements.

The frame structures will be manufactured at Ruukki's works in Peräseinäjoki, Finland and the WQ beams at the works in Russia. Ruukki will begin installation work at the site in April and the work will take about six months.
