Ruukki to strengthen its cabin production business

Finnish steelmaker Ruukki has announced that it will strengthen its global cabin manufacturing network in Central and Eastern Europe and in China to globally serve operating manufacturers of mobile machines in these market regions better.

The company will also strengthen cabin product development at its Kurikka R&D excellence centre in Finland. The initiative will include R&D and tool design, but will also continue manufacturing fully-assembled cabins for mobile machines, especially for the Nordic markets.

Ruukki is a supplier of cabins for mobile machines used in goods and container handling, mining, forest and construction machinery. The new cabin manufacturing site in Holic, Slovakia will begin cabin manufacture in the second quarter of 2010.

Ruukki's unit in Shanghai, China is increasing cabin manufacture for global manufacturers of mobile machines present in the Chinese market.
