Prefabricated steel storage tank components worth €6 million produced by Finnish steelmaker Ruukki are to be used to build seven new oil storage tanks in the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, a company press release said.

Three of the storage tanks to be built will have a volume of 120,000 cubic meters and be over 83 meters in diameter. The remaining four will have a volume of 40,000 cubic meters and be 42 meters in diameter.

The steel plates will be made and prefabricated at Ruukki's Raahe Steel Works in Finland and be shipped directly to the Port of Rotterdam in the form of ready-to-install steel components. Ruukki's deliveries will be complete in August this year.

Ruukki has earlier delivered similar storage tank components to Russia, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Canada and the UK.
