Russia’s stainless steel imports down 11.6 percent in August from July

Russian imports of stainless steel products in August this year decreased by 11.6 percent month on month to 19,013 mt, according to Russia-based SpetsStal Association.
 
In particular, in August imports of stainless flat steel products decreased by 13.5 percent, while imports of stainless steel long products increased by five percent, imports of stainless steel wire moved up by 46.5 percent, and imports of stainless steel pipe fittings increased by 7.5 percent, while stainless steel imports billet remained unchanged, all on month-on-month basis.
 
At the same time, imports of electric-welded stainless steel pipes decreased by 14.9 percent and imports of seamless pipes went down by 44.8 percent, both compared to the previous month.
