Russia’s stainless steel product import down 17.8 percent in November

According to the data issued by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (Spetsstal), in November this year Russia's imports of stainless steel products decreased by 17.8  percent month on month to 11,862 mt.

Accordingly during the month in question, Russia's imports of flats were almost at the October level and amounted to 7,771 mt, the imports of longs increased by 18.8 percent month on month to 1,623 mt, while the imports of billets went up by 2.1 times month on month to 539 mt.

On the other hand, in November this year, the country registered a decrease of 33.2 percent in its imports of wire to 161 mt, a 35.9 percent decline in its imports of seamless tubes to 747 mt, and a 72 percent reduction in its imports of electric welded tubes to 1,021 mt, all compared to October 2009.
