Russian coal exports by rail up 8.6 percent in January-September

In the January-September period of the current year, Russia exported 113.26 million mt of coal by railway, up 8.6 percent compared to the same period of last year, as reported by Russian Railways (RZD). About 97.58 million mt of this volume consisted of export shipments by rail to seaports, up 12.5 percent year on year.

In the given period, RZD transported 20.06 million mt of coal to Vostochny port, up 35.1 percent, 1.22 million mt to Nikolaev in Ukraine, rising by 77.6 percent, 0.61 million mt to Kandalaksha, up 56.3 percent, 6.1 million mt to Nakhodka, up 48.2 percent, and 4.05 million mt of coal to Posyet, increasing by 27.3 percent, all year on year
