Russia ups scrap exports in Jan

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal Customs Service, in January 2008 Russia increased its scrap exports by 10 percent year on year to 424,200 metric tons.

The main importer of Russian scrap during the period in question was Turkey, importing 137,600 metric tons of scrap - up 3.2 percent from a year earlier.

Meanwhile, January exports of Russian scrap to South Korea, Spain and Belarus also increased considerably.
