The Russian government has approved the proposal of Ministry of Industry and Trade to impose antidumping duties on imports of nickel-alloyed flat rolled stainless steel products from China, South Korea, Brazil and South Africa for a period of five years.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, following the completion of an antidumping investigation, on June 21 this year the ministry preliminarily determined that the weighted-average dumping margin is 29.9 percent for Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Inc. and 39.1 percent for other Chinese enterprises. Meanwhile, the ministry assigned different margins for exporters/producers as follows: 4.8 percent for South Korea-based POSCO, 86.8 percent for Daimyung TMS and Taihan ST, and 62.8 percent for other companies in South Korea; 21.1 percent for Brazilian producers; 33.3 percent for South African producers.
"Under the new market conditions, European, American, Indian, Thai and Japanese producers will gain enormous advantages in sales of their stainless steel products on the Russian market," the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (Spetsstal) commented.
