Russia issues January-July production results

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the January-July period of the current year Russia registered a 5.9 percent rise in its rolled steel product output to 36.4 million mt, a 4.5 percent increase in its crude steel output to 41.6 million mt and a 7.3 percent rise in its pig iron production to 29.6 million mt, all year on year. In the given period, Russia saw a 11.2 percent decrease year on year in its steel pipe production to 5.5 million mt.

In addition, in January-July Russia produced 196 million mt of coal and 15.9 million mt of metallurgical coke, up 5.9 percent and 0.6 percent respectively compared to the same period last year
