Rouge Steel restarts production at its BF

According to recent news in the market, ’B' blast furnace of Rouge Steel Corp. has restarted production after a two-week break. The ’B' blast furnace of the plant had to stop its operation due to cut in the oxygen supply line, which is provided from an outside energy supplier. Although, the plant's ’C' blast furnace started to reoperate three days after the event, ’B' blast furnace could start production only after two weeks. There were no property damage reported after the incident, however the company estimates a loss of 65'000 tons in slab production. It is also stated that, the company has sufficient inventory of in-process and finished steel products to meet the requirements of its customers.
