Rautaruukki will install walking beam furnace

Finnish integrated steelmaker Rautaruukki has announced that it is going to install a new walking beam furnace at its plant in Raahe. The furnace will have a capacity of 300 tons per hour. The beam furnace will be installed by France's Stein Heurtey and is scheduled to start production in May 2005. The company aims to replace new walking beam with the three old pusher furnaces. Also, with this new furnace, Rautaruukki can able to supply large and high quality hot rolled coils to new customers. In addition, hot rolling mill's annual capacity will be increased to 2.5 million tons from 2.4 million tons.
